About Us

Since I can remember, I have always had a love of dogs. I took my childhood dog through a basic obedience class and also taught her a variety of tricks. I really enjoyed teaching her new things and enjoyed the process of her learning.

As a teenager I got a job in a veterinary clinic and I've been working as an assistant at that same clinic for the last 20 years. Being in the veterinary field has given me a lot of exposure to different dog breeds and has also taught me a lot about dog behavior.

Within the last 12 years I started to get involved in dog sports. I have trained and competed in several different sports - Dock Diving, Barn Hunt, Lure Coursing, Weight Pull, Obedience, Rally Obedience, Nosework, Conformation, and Schutzhund. My primary focus is the sport of Schutzhund, a three phase sport comprised of Tracking, Obedience, and Protection. I enjoy the challenge of problem solving three different phases, I love the precision of the obedience, and I thoroughly enjoy working my dogs in protection.

I got into dog training because I want to help people build strong rewarding relationships with their dogs. Dog ownership should be fun and enjoyable for everyone. We are so lucky to share our lives with these animals, and I want to help people learn to read their dogs and learn to teach them behaviors that are helpful for coexisting.

I am a dog trainer. I believe in training the dog in front of me. Each dog is an individual, what works for one may not work for another. My tool box is limitless. The majority of my training is motivational, but I will use corrective tools if necessary. I believe if you can tell a dog yes, you can tell a dog no, and I believe having that balance makes for clearer training.
